Cinnamon buns were very good we had both pecan and gooey I think it’s called. The imperial cookies were good as well, was soft and fresh. Bread was pretty good too, I liked that it wasn’t full of holes like some breads of the same style can be.

We absolutely loved making the VB bakery a part of our holidays and weekends!
As we know there is a new owner with new recipes so we are trying to keep open minded. Some things are fairly similar or better (bread), some things you cannot find at all, and most other things are fairly basic.
Positive change is always good, and I love that someone took over the Bakery, made it brand new, fresh ideas, etc.
I stopped in there myself this morning. Waiting in line for 11 am. Was greeted beautifully. The staff was very quick- no hello, how are you, gave me my goods.
The selection is beyond underwhelming. No cinnamon buns. No pastries. No pizza buns. The variety that was served today was scones and cupcakes. (Neither of which is my go-to bakery items)
I miss the fresh danishes and pastries, the original cinnamon buns with apple filling 😍.
I asked two employees when they expected to have them ready and they said maybe an hour or two... so, we wait until basically mid-day to pick up fresh baked goods, wait in line, and a lot of the goodies aren't even available.
Wasn't planning on heading back in an hour hoping to get my hands on cinnamon buns and pizza buns.. just to wait in line again.. to finally re-enter the bakery and probably have it all sold out. Unfortunately won't be going back this trip. Might not even be able to head back until next year!

Kudos for trying your best. I know it's new for everyone, but I think the "non-trad" hours and baking needs to be revisited in the business plan/2023 season!
Just an honest review and opinion. Pleased with everything else I got. Keep up the good work, guys!

You can see (and taste!) that this is a labour of love. We’ve all loved that every day is a surprise, as the bakers test new recipes and find what works. Everything we’ve tried has been that “half step” above a certain other bakery that used to be in the area… it’s all recognizable, but everything from Village Green is just that little bit more spiced, more creamy, more complex, and more delicious! Watching their journey this first summer has been amazing, they’ve gone above and beyond for this community, and we’re so lucky to have them.

Building a bakery to health code standards in 6 weeks, learning the tricks of a bakery, teaching new local young staff how to bake and treat customers all while providing excellent products… Jen and staff smashed it out of the beach!!! Congrats to all. I have loved everything tasted so far and appreciate the freshness of your products!! Excited for next year!!
