This is a refreshing oasis of local and fresh products in the city. Not only is there a wide selction of locally grown foods but also orchard products from Onatrio and B.C. There is a WIDE range of locally made products from pantry stable to frozen items. The staff are so very helpful. I recently signed up for the Tractor Miles discount card.
Loved going to St.Leon when we lived in the area, and would shop there weekly for local / Canadian produce. A little pricey? Yes, but to be expected for local fresh produce and we would rather support local than buy less expensive grocery store produce from thousands of km away. Have been out of the area for about 8 years, and have only returned occasionally. Went yesterday and enjoyed the new (to me) layout. Picked up local corn & potatoes, okanagan peaches, and a watermelon, which I was disappointed to find (once I got home) is a product of the USA. Guess they have expanded their definition of “local”? Or maybe they always had American products and I just don’t remember……I guess I should have paid closer attention :)
All products are fresh and good quality, there customer service is exceptional 100% recommended to visit. Only in my opinion the plastic bags can be replaced by paper bags.
Leon's Garden is such a cute store. From providing the variety of floral arrangements in their garden center to groceries in the store they have a cute outdoor market that'll keep you busy with some local Manitoba produce. Come check them out! Check out my Instagram post @thatsomei for more info of what the location offers!
Best selection of fall veggies when you go around this time of the year. Lots of organic options and of course they are more pricey but you get local products that are just so much better in quality. Also inside the market you will find lots of local products such as ice cream, baked goods, honey, etc. I love going around end of September to October - they will have so many options of squashes! Parking lot is easily accessible and I recommend going early to avoid the crowd.
