You can walk up to the dl&w bridge, but there is a fence preventing you from going out onto it. From there you can see the two lift bridges one of which is held open. When we were there we saw a buck on the bridge, and a doe and two fawns near the center of the park.
Watch out for chiggers (teeny tiny red spider-looking bugs), they bite and there's tons of them!
Very cool but small park on the river that not many know about. Walking the trails gives you great views of the older days of Buffalo. Across the water is Concrete Central and there are two active railroad bridges very close by.
