“My husband and I visited The Manna @ Northland, this morning. The entire experience was great, from beginning to the end. Superb customer service, from the greeter at the door, to the servers!!! Very clean, neat, cozy!!! The food was very good, and arrived quickly. I order the Haddock, & my husband, the corn beef & hash. I cannot wait to visit again. This will be our new hangout.”

“I went for oral surgery to have all my teeth removed. I had a lot of anxieties about getting the procedure done. I primarily went here because they're able to do general anesthesia because they're located in a hospital, unlike many other oral surgery offices. The receptionists are courteous. The doctors are receptive to questions and are skilled at working with patients who have anxiety. I don't remember any of the procedure, which is about the best outcome I can imagine. I had to go for a follow up because some bones were poking out of the gums a month after the surgery, which happens sometimes and isn't a fault of the surgeon. The follow up doctor, who clipped the bones that were sticking out, was excellent as well. The procedure was mostly painless. The only pain involved was the Novocaine injections, which were pretty painful but brief and not the worst pain in the world. There was no pain after the procedure when the local anesthetic wore off. Expect to wait 30-60 minutes past your scheduled appointment because they're always busy. But I find it worth the wait to get quality care. And I've yet to get into any doctor's appointment at my scheduled time, regardless of where I go, anyway.”

“This review is based only on my experience with the surgery suite. I was scheduled for orthopedic surgery at 10:15 am. I received a call from my surgeon’s office the day before notifying me to arrive at 8 am. I arrived and checked in at 7:55 am. There was no greeting. No hello or good morning. I was immediately told, “You’re late! We’ve all been waiting for you.” How was I late? I arrived before the time I was given? Mind you, I had NEVER been in ECMC and there was construction going on at the main entrance making things very difficult to navigate. I didn’t know where I was going. The woman that did my registration was extremely rude with me the entire time I was giving her my information. Her name tag was turned around so I couldn’t see her name. I can’t blame her! If I acted like that, I wouldn’t want people to know my name either. If my surgeon would have given me a choice to go somewhere else, I would have walked out at that moment. People’s nerves are already high and adding stress and rudeness is the LAST thing patients need. The woman that then brought me back was just as rude! I tried talking to her and she didn’t say a single word back! Then I meet Sherrie, my nurse. My goodness. What a breath of fresh air she was. She has the greatest sense of humor and has a way of lightening the mood. Luckily, I don’t get nervous before surgeries, but I know a lot of patients do. Sherrie will make you feel at ease and make you laugh until it’s time for you to go in. This nurse is a godsend! Next I’ll move onto Colin. Colin was a student, I believe to be a nurse anesthetist or similar. He was so caring and also had a good sense of humor. He had a nice demeanor and I could see his drive to learn. He said he was hired on to be an employee and you are so lucky to have him, ECMC! Thanks again to the 2 friendly people who made the process of surgery less painful here at ECMC. To the witch at the front desk of the surgery suite: “In a world where you can be anything, be a Sherrie or Colin.” I don’t wish for anyone to lose their job, but maybe she’d be better utilized in a department that doesn’t directly interact with patients. Maybe somewhere in the basement.”

“I was a short term resident after a lengthy hospitalization and had a wonderful experience at Terrace View. The Occupational and Physical Therapists are awesome. Very dedicated individuals who work with residents on an individual one on one level. Nursing staff was exceptional. Medications, dressing changes and treatments all given in a timely and caring manner. The CNAs were great with the residents. Always helpful and attentive as well as extremely busy. Housekeeping was top-notch as the pod I was in was spotless. Meals were good for lunch and dinner. My one complaint was breakfast needs an overhaul. But I have stated to my family, if the need came that i needed permanent placement, this was the place for me. I would like to give Canal Side staff in its entirety a kudos for a job well done in every aspect. Thank you for all you did for me !”
