It was my first time in years visiting. I had to put my 14 yr old dog to sleep. I won't go into details because I don't want to get staff in trouble. But they relaxed a rule for me and my Stella, which made all the difference in saying goodbye. The staff was very accommodating & very sympathetic to my last request. I want to thank her a 1000+ times.
We just adopted our second dog from the SPCA- this time a puppy. The dog has been just as fantastic as our 3 year old dog.
But even though the building is newer, On busy days there are not enough offices to process the paperwork. I know it's to late now but be prepared for delays in leaving with your new pet.
My grandma adopted dogs and cats there from the past. This March she adopted a beagle named India which her name is now Sweetie Pie, she was a puppy mill dog. She is so sweet. It took her time to adjust to her home. But she got along with her 4 cats and her other beagle aussie Buddy. I love Sweetie. Such a sweet girl.
Everything was great except for 1 part, which felt kinda big. The staff was very nice and helpful and made adopting my kitty easy and comfortable. My mark is that the the cats in the cages in the back have a lesser seeming chance for adoption especially after getting crammed practically the same size as the cat and look like rodent traps. I wanted to have a meet and greet with a cat and after getting put in the cage he peed out of fear and was left to soak in the urine while the person went to get something to clean the floor. It was traumatizing feeling helpless as he's howling in the crate soaking in his pee and there's nothing we can do because the urine on the floor was seen as a bigger importance than getting him out of his urine filled hell. There's got to be a better way to transport to the meet an greet. There's also a woman that I believe is too old and out of it to be handling the cats after watching her try to shove a frightened cat sideways into the crate. Some of the volunteers are wonderful. The woman who did the adoption with me was very kind.
Dr Anderson is such an amazing vet! She takes her time and really cares about the animals. Really had a great experience with everyone at the clinic. I knew my dog was in good hands.
