The reservoir park is a nice walk with play ground not to far across the street. Very peaceful place.
I really would’ve gave it a five if the latrines or bathrooms or restrooms whatever terminology you want to use ....we’re working we had a birthday party/Fourth of July family gathering at the reservoir park it was really nice it was quiet had a lot of fun we were able to play a lot of games because it had a lot of room out there to play. we played kickball we just played too many games to name but that was one of the positives things the negative was every time someone had to use the bathroom they had to walk forever and we had people there from ages one up until 87 and there was a restroom just steps from us but the sad part was it did not work so I just thought that was the downside to it they knew that it was a holiday they knew people had paid for a pavilion so they knew it was going to be people there they should have made sure that the restrooms were working or gave us a discount or even just let us know that they’re not working I just thought that was the only negative part everything else is really nice
I love coming here to fly my kites. When the wind is just right it is a perfect place to fly. It is so wide open so you can't interfere with anyone else around. And most times there usually isn't a lot of people around. This the first time my wife and I have walked to the top to get an open view of the area. It really is a wonderful view.
I've fished all around this state for 40 years and I've frequently found myself fishing here.Fish wander in from the river and also filter back out.Almost any fish found in the river can be caught here in limited numbers at some point in the year.Small perch, rock bass, and small bass in the 6"-10" range seem to be common.I have caught the occasional bigger bass too.Small schools of silver bass can sometimes be seen chasing minnows well out of casting distance. The tease is that it's a 1900 acre reservoir and boats are not allowed.Access is limited to the part within the park along the south shore.
Love this park - it is perfect for long walks or playing baseball, softball, tennis. One negative is that soil drainage there is poor, so during wet spring, like we have this year, there is too much standing water in the grass. Also dog owners need to be aware of the tick problem, especially during warmer days. But overall, this is one of the best parks in the area with attention given to nature - they planted in uncultivated areas local native plants. Idea of exercise equipment along the walking trail also works perfectly.
