The very best apples and potatoes in all of eastern Canada! Lisa and the team at Spurr Brothers work very hard to produce the very best everyday. I highly recommend a visit to their very own local farmers market!

    UPDATE; August 3, 2018:
My husband and I visited their new location this year and the strawberries were better than ever!

Although their strawberry U-pick may not be open, they sold strawberries out of their store. I always wanted to do the U-pick to make sure all of my berries were perfect. Well, I’ll never do that again. Spurr Brothers’ employees picked berries better than I ever could.

My husband and I travelled 3 hours, round trip, twice this year to get these delicious berries. The first time we went down we bought 2 flats (16 quarts), and the second time we bought 5 flats (40 quarts) of strawberries. They were the best berries we ever had. They were large, sweet, absolutely to die for. Out of 56 quarts there wasn’t even one bad berry. They were all perfect. I gave two flats to my parents and they loved them; they said they were the best berries they ever had too, and asked us to bring them back more next year!

Spurr Brothers’ customer service was above and beyond perfect. They were friendly, accommodating, and gave us some ideas for processing the berries for storage. For both trips, prior to driving up, I messaged them on Facebook. They answered my message within a half hour, even though one of those times was 7:30pm on a Friday. They were always happy to accommodate us. I believe for the second trip, they were supposed to be closed that day, but they opened briefly just for us! Absolutely wonderful people.

On our second visit, we bought homemade jam; Red Pepper Jelly with Jalapeños. One of the ladies suggested we put it on top of cream cheese on a cracker; it was amazing. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place. It is wonderful, and most definitely worth the 3 hour round trip.

They offer more than just strawberries. When I was there, the crops for potatoes and apples were soon-to-be-ready for sale. There are even more crops available.

I would recommend this place to everyone.

    PREVIOUS REVIEW ABOUT U-PICK:
My husband and I went to their old location two years ago for their strawberry U-Pick. They were the best strawberries we had ever had. The strawberries were plentiful and there were four different varieties to choose from. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They explained the differences in the strawberry varieties and we were allowed to sample berries as we picked them. There were a few elderly people picking berries and the staff would go and help them pick.

We picked 5 flats of strawberries in a couple hours and we really enjoyed ourselves. There was a comfortable amount of space between the strawberry rows and it was lined with hay.

They changed locations and unfortunately the following couple of years did not have a high enough crop yield to open steadily for U-Pick. Those two years we went to alternative U-picks, but the berries were never as flavourful or tasty as Spurr Brother’s. I will not go anywhere else again, I will simply buy the berries from their store (see update above).

I would recommend this place to anyone.
