Such delicious food! I had the Salmon Wellington and it was amazing. My mom had the scallop fettuccine which she loved. We topped it with pumpkin bread pudding with caramel sauce, yum!
Highly recommend!
The Sunroom is a delight. We were lucky enough to stay in the darling Inn for 3 nights and ate in the restaurant 2 of those nights. The Sunroom is a cozy upscale restaurant with a impeccable fun wait staff and food that can’t be beat. Start with a fantastic cocktail. The spiced cranberry margarita was awesome! As a starter the mussels are a must. The salmon puff pastry was another favorite from their fall menu. Make a special trip to Chester and stay in and dine in the Sunroom. It won’t disappoint!
The Sunroom is nicely decorated and a bright comfortable place to eat. We were a table of four for dinner midweek in October.
Our server Sherry was a delight - she was warm and friendly and very knowledgable about the menu items.
The first offering was a basket of forcaccia which unfortunately was stale, dry and crumbly. We all had Ceasar Salad to start and while the romaine was fresh and crispy it was disappointing to see no real bacon or pancetta and shop bought croutons on the salad - however the dressing was very tasty.
The Steak served was awful - tough and sinewy, both the steak and sauce were cold as were the almost raw (not al dente) vegetables. The secret to Duck Pho is all in the broth and this one was watery while the duck breast itself was also rather tough. I had the Burger which was very good but surprisingly was served with frozen shoestring fries - it really does not take much to produce a few hand cut fries from a potato. So all in all while we enjoyed our evening the food itself was quite a disappointment.
The food was incredible. Great portion sizes. Beef was cooked perfectly, Flatbread was incredible, salt level in the pasta was spot on and the scalloped sweet potato was a pleasant surprise for a side. Relaxed atmosphere. You don't feel rushed here at all. A very enjoyable dinner experience.
Hands down, Sunroom is the best fine-dining restaurant on the south shore. The food is amazing, and the menu will keep you coming back for more! The ambiance is wonderful, and the servers are friendly and accommodating. Always looking forward to this place with friends, and family - what ever the occasion! You must try the mussels with brandy cream, and the pan-seared scallops, with potato rosti, maple mustard cream, bacon, seasonal vegetables is exceptionally good!
