Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa

I didn’t stay at the resort, I attended a quilting retreat this weekend. I was in the basement of the event building. I wanted to give kudos to Cory for his service. He was very pleasant and professional, responded to every request, kept the place safe and tidy, and most of all put up with our shenanigans with a good sense of humour! He deserves a raise or a promotion! Thank you!

On our first approach to the hotel, we were astonished by how beautiful the grounds and hotel appeared. The lobby and other common areas are gorgeous and straight out of a fairy tale. The guest service was very friendly and helpful as we checked in. However, as soon as we got to our room, the illusion faded.

The room severely needed an update as the windows had cracks and were single paned, the bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom was severely outdated, and our room was the only one that overlooked a rooftop.

As we went swimming, the pool looks like it would have been luxurious in the seventies but now, the paint is peeling all along the pool sides. At least the shower water was hot.

The food in the restaurant and with room service was fabulous.

As for the location, the hotel is located outside of Digby and had no known shuttle service so without a car, you are stuck without services unless you order a taxi.

Beautiful grounds and very classy building. Smallish rooms characteristic of the 1930's. Upgrading bathrooms, toiletries, and towels would merit a 4th star. Bedroom safes would be welcome. The restaurant is classy and the food quite good; nice breakfast buffet but croissants were not fresh. I will go back.
