“Friendly welcome from Deborah with lots of helpful information provided on the local area, what to do, where to visit, discounts on local restaurants etc. which was brilliant, and so professional. Well looked after grounds with a communal fire area that is prepared for you in advance by the owners and a walking route signposted to town. Clean facilities too and good WiFi, we were only there for 1 night but no complaints at all.”

“We've stayed here twice with a ten year gap and the chalets/grounds remain in excellent condition. Comfortable queen/king size beds in large private bedrooms, large sitting area for lounging in front of a fire place (some are wood burning...wood not supplied...but are being phased out in favour of safer/cleaner propane), fully equipped kitchens with full fridge/stove/oven/ microwave/dishwasher. Short walk to a private beach to watch sunsets.”

“The lady at front desk wax very nice. Recommended local eateries. Very easy check out in morning. Office is only open between 10 and 11 am. We left before that, the caretaker took keys and wished us well. The location is a 10 plus! Right on ocean with breath taking sunsets right in front of you. Offers both rooms and mini chalets for rent. Resonible priced in today's market.”

Cape Breton Island is a one-of-a-kind experience and staying on the beach at Point Cross RV Park captures the best of everything. “We didn't stay at the hotel. But we've visited the restaurant. Such a great experience! The staff is nice. The view is beautiful. The food and the drinks are really delicious, probably the best on this coast. Thanks to chef! You should put your restaurant on the Google map separately from hotel for visitors like us who is looking were to eat without staying at the hotel.”

“We were traveling the Cabot Trail and decided to stop here for our second night. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There has been much work done to revive this campground that had been unused for a number of years. The washrooms are new. The owner is planning to address the issue of water pooling on the floors. The laundry area was clean and we did a load while there. Machines worked great. There was wifi in the laundry area but that was about it. The owner is aware of this issue and trying to extend the range. We did require wifi so we simply went to the laundry room and sat in the chairs provided. This is a pet friendly campground. The washrooms could have been cleaner. Overall, this is a work in progress and has potential to be a great campground.”

“Rooms were old...looked clean but tub lining all worn off...ick. skipped shower there. Looks like run down. Stairs to get upstairs were old, narrow, and patched up. Nice view upstairs. Windows and curtains were 80's for sure. And it wasn't the cheapest in that area. Not for me.”

“The room was very clean and had great character to it. My travel partner and I were welcomed in with warm arms; and breakfast was amazing (with different selections depending on what you like). The house was located right next to the downtown area and right alongside the waterfront. At the time that I stayed, there was a firework show; which made a great surprise/addition to our stay!”

“Heather and Attie (pronounced Ottie) were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in room 2, the shower is on the small size, which for my wife and I was not an issue but for some people it would be a bit tight. Breakfast was good, and coffee was great. They have been doing this for a while and it shows in their attention to detail. This was our first and won’t be the last B&B experience. Rooms have a lock on them and their entrance door also has a lock and they said some people question why? Our question is why wouldn’t you want locks on the doors. My only suggestion would be to have a power bar in the room for charging electronics. My wife and I each have an iPhone, ipad and Apple Watch so charging can be an issue, but we made out okay as we just unplugged the hair dryer and used that outlet. they are right on the harbour and we had an excellent view of the harbour. When we come back to Digby we will definitely stay here again.”

“On our first approach to the hotel, we were astonished by how beautiful the grounds and hotel appeared. The lobby and other common areas are gorgeous and straight out of a fairy tale. The guest service was very friendly and helpful as we checked in. However, as soon as we got to our room, the illusion faded. The room severely needed an update as the windows had cracks and were single paned, the bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom was severely outdated, and our room was the only one that overlooked a rooftop. As we went swimming, the pool looks like it would have been luxurious in the seventies but now, the paint is peeling all along the pool sides. At least the shower water was hot. The food in the restaurant and with room service was fabulous. As for the location, the hotel is located outside of Digby and had no known shuttle service so without a car, you are stuck without services unless you order a taxi.”

“I stayed for a night at the end of September. I had car troubles and the woman working the desk in the evening helped me figure it out, and even left a note for me in the morning with additional details! They were able to lend us some cards, and provided extra towels for the teenagers who were travelling with me. The room was clean and fairly quiet; the shower had great water pressure. I just can’t reiterate how nice all the staff were and they definitely made our stay an exceptionally positive one. Thank you!!”

“Our stay with Bob & Maria was meant to be a mere stop on our way back home from Cape Breton but ended up being yet another highlight of our trip! We were amazed by the hospitality from the moment we arrived and Maria offered us a pot of herbal tea as we unwound and watched a television program about scuba divers in Nova Scotia. We soon became entranced by the remarkable decor all throughout the house and were not at all surprised to learn that Maria has a diploma in interior decoration! What's more is that much of the art was done by Bob and Maria themselves! In the morning we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast of fruit and eggs benedict from Bob, who worked as an international chef for many years before settling in Digby. We were sad to leave after such a short stay. Thanks, Bob & Maria!”

This is the first time ever using bed and breakfast and if others are even close to this stay we will be using them in the future. “We have stayed there many times with my family and we are going again soon the owners are But there are a lot of weird people who stay there and talk and smoke all day and night. The rooms have very different sizes but its usually nice the bed are comfy and they have TV and sometimes you have ovens miceowaves and a fridge in the rooms! But it was a pretty good stay the times I have been there but now I am going again and I'm hoping they are similar!”

“It's a great location to be able to walk to the Digby waterfront but the actual rooms are getting a bit dated. Everything was clean though. The check-in from 3-6 is a bit restrictive but the owners, Barb and Joe, were accommodating in making our breakfast a few minutes early so we could depart for our whale watching tour which was really appreciated. The breakfast was fantastic (crepes). Not sure we would stay again as we like something more modern but it worked well for us for 1 night only.”

“We pulled in driving a 20' U Haul, towing our car in the middle of a huge storm to be greeted by the owner with a cheerful "how are ya?" The room was cozy and well equipped. Comfy beds, great pillows, clean and a Keurig with wonderful coffee choices. In the morning, with clear skies I walked our dog to the back of the property. . .wow. . .the view was amazing! A summer visit here would be a great choice.”
