Living Stone

The only place in Halifax area that was able to cut and install mitred edge natural stone slab over our large old brick fireplace. The quality and customer service was EXCELLENT. Nobody else in NS can do one piece natural stone and have mitred edge as well. Their installers were very knowledgable and they have a huge expertise of working with large slabs, more importantly working with vertical surfaces.
Great experience overall and we will be back for the kitchen countertops :)

LivingStone (Halifax) restored my respect for the renovation industry in Nova Scotia. They are superb, best experience thus far in my 1.5 year long renovation ordeal.
While it is a fact that Halifax is currently the fastest growing city in Canada, the overall abysmal standards of working with a client cannot be excused. With a number of builders, I have been lied to, misled, ghosted/ignored, delayed (no, not due to Covid), treated like dirt, had to re-do some work etc.
From day one, the experience with LivingStone was so good that I was even suspicious if they are for real. They talked me through the process, and encouraged (!) to ask questions at any point – in my previous encounters getting communication straight was like inquisition torture regardless of the pricetag. They explained all the steps at all times. They consulted me up to the last minute to ensure that the materials used and the work done will be just as I wished. They guided my understanding without hostility but with genuine humility of an expert. The entire team I encountered deserves praise for their part in the process.
Last but not least, they were on time! In fact, they made sure to work with my demanding travel schedule and installed the countertops a week earlier that they planned just to accommodate my needs.

We've used Livingstone on three different occasions and are super happy with our experience with the Livingstone team and their services from start to finish. The selection of stone is beautiful but A LOT and can be a little overwhelming when you walk in so I would recommend to allow yourself some time. Also, I found their website to be useful, there is a lot of information about the different types of stone they carry including pros and cons. I found this helped me narrow my options when trying to decide which stone to use depending on where we were using it. Over the years we have recommended Livingstone to our friends and family.
