“I bought into the stigma of Chebucto Heights Elementary School due to its location and history - initially. Upon going to the "orientation" with my first child a number of years ago, I thought the same as some others. Old school with many issues and problems with the student population from the problem areas of the city. I even had an "out of area transfer" application in process as I attended the first day there. Well....I could not have been more wrong. When I first walked in I experienced a welcoming faculty, caring and engaged teachers and met an outstanding group of "first time" parents, like me, with children that made immediate friends with my little one. Three years later I have three children there. They have a "no nonsense" Principal that puts more time and effort into that school than anyone else, and also has his three children going there. That is proof enough. This was the perfect "Don't Judge the Book by its Cover" example. I have a fourth on the way - and CHES is where he is going!”
