Jack Astor's Bar & Grill

Staff is relatively friendly, drink was a little watered down. Overall it is a well run establishment and its always clean. The food is always consistent and very tasty. ????????

Portion size was not unreasonable, but was expecting more for the price paid. Maybe charge $12 for the sandwich instead of $18. I guess you're paying for ambience.

It has been several years since I last went to Jack Astor's. I recently went with a friend who was looking after her 3 grandchildren, aged 5, and twins 8. It was a Saturday around noon and the restaurant was not too full. There was no wait for a table and our server arrived to take our drink order. We spent a few minutes looking over the menus and decided our order before the drinks arrived. The kids had crayons and puzzle menus to keep them busy. Our food arrived promptly, as ordered and was very good. Just as I remembered. The other thing I remembered was the loud music that is always playing! The kids were occupied with the sports on the many TV screens throughout but it was impossible to carryon any type of conversation. The food is the only reason I would consider returning to Jack Astor's but there are too many similar restaurants around that are more suited to actually enjoying a good conversation with good food, but then, I also do not have my phone stuck to my hand, either.

Big menu to choose from. Good food but definitely scope for improvement is there. Some things are good but not fit to taste. Lively and crowded place with lot of screen to watch sports and games from. Great service. Clean restrooms. Four Stars because their food may not be fit to taste but is way better than a lot of others places.
