Great service. Good food. I have been coming here since before I can remember; no exaggeration. Ong's is an Eastern Shore classic.
Great service large group 11 of us reservation made in advance. Everything was well organized. Nice hot delicious food, wait staff were friendly and prompt.
Real good food, large portions, friendly staff.
This restaurant could be kind to the local population by seriously attempting to provide authentic Chinese cuisine. Their spare ribs were tasty, but of course a North American dish. The egg rolls are identical to those sold by by the ‘Chinese’ restaurant in Porters Lake as were the ‘chicken balls’ which means to me that they were initially frozen, and came from the same warehouse, not their kitchen. Both of those were below average in quality. The chow mein was okay since the quality of the shrimps and other meat in it were good, but the noodles were overcooked and mushy. Fried rice on the eastern shore is being peddled as cheap rice drowned in soy sauce which is a parody of the dish.
We could do with a good ‘ethnic’ restaurant which could get the existing restaurants to raise their game and invest pride in their products, which is generally lacking.
This is the best Chinese-Canadian restaurant east of the city, but it could be much better.
