“I have recently moved and needed an accent chair for my new apartment. My experiences furniture shopping in the city had not been overly positive and I was not having success online. On two previous occasions, I had travelled to Hampton House and had been very pleasantly surprised with their selection and sales assistants so I decided to take the trip to New Minas. I am so happy I did - the sales staff have always been great and this time, I was fortunate enough to have Amanda Mansfield assist me and she made the whole experience fun and rewarding. She went out of her way to assist me by actually listening to my 'chatter' and then making suggestions that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. I am so pleased with the selections she helped me with so not only were my furniture needs met but the whole experience was positive and enjoyable. I will definitely be returning for more decorating ideas.”

“This store is so fancy and elegant that at first I cynically thought that it must be all foreign imported stuff, but in fact, the very kind and awesome owner sources as many things from locals, Canadians, and women! that she can. While I was there some artisans even came in asking about selling their stuff through the store and she was very encouraging. She had just the right suggestion when my high school son needed a secret Santa gift for a girl he did not know very well. And, she has that splendid Canadian-made Tru Earth laundry soap that comes in cardboard envelopes -- so nice to be able to buy it in person instead of have to get it by mail order! I really encourage you to look into this store, it's an absolute gem.”

“Contender for the most organized bookstore in NS. If you're used to inching through messy, grimy, disorganized bookstores with high prices and crankster owners, this store will be a breath of fresh air. Decent selection, reasonable prices, professional staff, and no books littering the floor in the aisles. They have a credit program for the local folk, and have a discount shelf if you're just looking for something to read on the bus or at the doctor's office. Another pro for this store is that they have consistent hours, and until recently were open till 9 every day. This is one bookstore that is actually run as a business. PS, don't be scared to go through the drawers at the back or the banana boxes between shelves. They contain overstock or books that won't fit on the shelves. I once asked for permission and the staff kindly said to go right ahead, that's what they're there for.”
