My husband and I enjoyed our meal very much! The cauliflower appetizer was SO good. We also had The Handi and the butter chicken and both were delicious.
Overall, I loved it! It’s sad that I live in this town and haven’t been to this restaurant before now. I will definitely be back. When we went it wasn’t busy and the service seemed slow. I ordered the coconut shrimp. If I order it again I will ask them to peel it first. Other than that it was amazing. Lots of flavour high quality ingredients and amazing variety. My favourite was the cauliflower appetizer. Sorry I don’t know the Indian name for it.
Outstanding food and delightful atmosphere: so happy to find such delicious Indian food near us. A huge recommend!
We had the black lentil Dahl and beef vindaloo and asked for "big city level spice" on the vindaloo--it was amazing: a slow build of heat that didn't distract from the subtle but complex flavours. The meat was a little fatty but the sauce made up for it. The Dahl was also very good--creamy texture and a layered delicate spicing that amplified with every bite. Naan was also light and buttery.
Rice is included, which is great and in general portions were generous.
We were in Walkerton for an appointment and just happened upon the restaurant. It was incredible. The staff was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere welcoming and the food was incredible. We had the Hakka Gobi to start. We couldn’t stop oohing over how great it was. Then we had Saag-E-Jashn (Chicken) and the OG Goat. Both served with separate bowls of rice. It was delicious and we had enough that we each ended up bringing a portion home for a second meal. We got the naan basket with all 3 types of naan. They were the best naan I’ve ever had. Nice and thin, with the perfect amount of toasting to them. And the flavors were remarkable. We couldn’t decide which naan we liked the best I had the Aam panna for my drink. One I’ve never had before. It was delicious. All the flavors came through independently and mixed. It was interesting and refreshing. A wonderful discovery. Sorry we didn’t have space for dessert because they looked great. We’ll absolutely be back.
This was my first time at Buddha restaurant but will not be my last. We started with the Hakka gobi appetizer. It was cauliflower battered and served with a spicy/sweet chili type sauce. It was so so delicious! My entree was chicken tikka Masala, and I chose it because I wanted some heat in my dinner, and it did not disappoint. Served with separate bowl of fluffy rice and in pretty decorated bowl. And the garlic naan bread was warm, crispy yet soft/chewy. Could not stop eating and groaning how good it tasted. My dinner companions had paneer tikka masala (also warm spicy heat) and the coco chicken, each served in pretty bowls and side of rice, and the garlic naan bread to dip in the curry sauce. We had a German craft beer with our meal, and a pitcher of water at the table. Nice cutlery and napkins are folded so elegantly. Our server was attentive and it did not take long to get our appetizer, and then our dinner entrees after. No room for dessert but maybe next time. So glad we have this gem of a restaurant in Walkerton!
