Great place to hiking and have a little adventure climbing rocks and walking into caves. A lot of caves for sure, some seems naturally formed and some may be excavated to form as caves. Definitely bring cash otherwise etranfer is an option. Do wear hiking shoes to hold the grip on rocks while climbing. Kids love to adventure
Great place for an afternoon hike! Be sure to bring cash and wear solid hiking shoes, boots or good runners.
I was able to quickly go through this area in 30 min and take plenty of photos.
Really cool caves and great hike. The trails were kind of short, shorter than suggested. All the trails took less than an hour to complete with time to take plenty of photos. But really great scenery and view. A little costly for entry.
Looking for something fun to do?
Want to get the kids out to explore nature?
Looking for a great date idea?
Then you should definitely check out Greig’s caves!
I brought my six-year-old to explore the caves and she was in her element!
She climbed, jumped, played hide and seek on me and explored till her hearts content.
There was so much to see and there is no time limit. The caves were so magnificent. You can choose to stay on the path and just look from a distance or climb right inside and explore a little deeper. I do strongly suggest bringing a flashlight or a headlight so that you can see better. However it is not needed.(it does make for better pictures if you have a flashlight)
Some people recommend a hiking stick but I do not because I feel using your hands on the rocks is much safer and more stable.
Keep your eyes out on the cliffs above for a cool Eagles nest that we found.
If you are wondering how difficult the hike is, have no fear. There is a path to follow that will be very similar, either to climbing upstairs or walking downstairs. Keeping in mind that some of the dissent or accent would be like climbing up several flights of stairs. The only difficulty would be when you climb in and out of caves that can be very slippery on the rocks so wearing soft soled hiking shoes can be very important.(but not necessary)
The entire experience is under the canopy of the trees or caves themselves so sunscreen is not really necessary. It is quite cool because you are in the shade and the caves offer a nice cool ambient temperature as well. You may want to put some bug spray on or, wear pants and long sleeves although I did not experience any mosquitoes or bugs during our hike(around 4-6pm)
All in all, it was a fantastic experience and we will definitely come back to explore some more next time!
Oh yeah! CASH! CASH! CASH! It is the only form of payment.
