The trails that run the length of the river for the best views are going to burn a bit for a beginner hiker. Do not let that dissuade you though, it is worth every calorie! Please remember to wear shoes that have good lugs and nice grip so you can safely access the best parts. Enjoy!

There's a 5 minute hike to Oxtongue River's ragged falls from the parking area.

A bit further upstream is an area of the river on can wade in (though the bottom was ultra silty, slippery, and sharp).

We've driven past this hike on our way into and out of Algonquin for over a decade, but could definitely see popping in to cool off next visit.
