Wonderful hosts who served a delicious meal for an important business meeting. We had one of our business partners stay over that evening in one of their rooms. He loved it.
This bed and breakfast very conveniently located to explore the trails and lakes in the region. We stayed in tastefully decorated very clean and spacious unit with private patio and enjoyed the view. Owners were more then just friendly, they are really amazing people and proud with what they do. Homemade hot breakfast was exceptional and served in cozy county style room.
I'd highly recommend for the wonderful and accommodating hosts, relaxing ambience, excellent food (delicious breakfast plus we asked for the dinner option of steak, asparagus, potatoes, local sausage and cheese appetizer, salad, and dessert) and drink (great coffee and wine), and beautiful scenery. The sheets were very soft, rooms were comfortable size and temperature.
I really appreciated Greg giving us so much info on things to check out in the area, and on their new bike tours (which I will be recommending to friends). We went for an evening walk along the Trans-Canada Trail and visited the outdoor railway museum (small but informative). The next day we went for a canoe ride, under the bridges (cutest Barn Swallow babies!) and out into the west end of the lake, which is covered in gorgeous mixed forests. We drove out of town on Brewer's Road back to Highway 7 for some more beautiful Frontenac forest scenery. We'll have to come in the fall when the maples change colour.
A lovely bed and breakfast! The room was spacious, comfortable, and very well cleaned. At first I was wondering how social distancing protocols would be followed, but the room we stayed in had a separate entrance. We were able to avoid running into the other guests. My only criticism would be that there's a small gap in a door in the bathroom that connects to the rest of the house. It's big enough that someone could be peeping through while you're in there - of course no one was and we were never suspicious, but worth pointing out.
WiFi was spotty, but when you're up in such a beautiful place, it doesn't matter very much. Breakfast was exceptional, very filling.
The family is lovely - we especially enjoyed the company of their dog Dean, who was nothing but lovable. Greg, the owner, took his time explaining what Sharbot Lake has to offer and how to get around. He even offered his canoe to use. He just launched a cycling tour business, which I'll have to check out during my next stay. I admire how passionate he is about tourism in the area, and how he supports local business!
It's definitely worth the drive up here, and I'm looking forward to my next stay!
What an incredible stay. Greg and his family were the best hosts I've had in a long time. Rooms are very clean, spacious, and extremely well equipped, at hotel quality. Lots of privacy in a gorgeous location.
Sharbot Lake is a great place to explore and even to check out hiking and biking in the nearby area. Nice beach to swim at with more secluded options nearby. Greg has his own cycle touring business which I would highly recommend.
Breakfast is incredible, fresh, organic fare prepared with some TLC, served outside overlooking the lake every morning. Greg is chock full of recommendations for activities and eateries, is extremely friendly, and goes out of his way to ensure a great stay.
Rest assured, we'll be back! Thanks for the wonderful times!
