“SUMMER ACCOMMODATION REVIEW We stayed here for a night in mid-august on our way across Ontario. Having graduated from Queen's years ago I'm a bit biased, but in my view the location is quite nice. The university campus has some beautiful limestone buildings and is right on the water. If you go downtown there are lots of nice places to eat / things to do in Kingston. On this trip, we got the double room with 2 single beds. The price was reasonable and the room was clean and relatively comfortable. Desk staff (at Watts Hall) were reasonably well organized. It's a bit annoying that they'll only give you parking until 7AM when you stay here in the summer, though. With regards to the residence itself: as a Queen's alumnus, I'm glad I didn't have to live in McNeill as a student. The building itself has been very weirdly renovated. Bathrooms in particular have been very poorly done. They are small overall and are very cramped, to the point where it's actually difficult to open the stall door while you're inside it. Double rooms are smaller than the ones I saw in Gordon House (at least in 2009).”

“Likely one of Kingston's best hidden gems. A trip to Kingstallion Fine Italian Dining is an experience you will not soon forget. I had the pleasure of being shortlisted on their exclusive guest list on multiple occasions and was able to indulge in a fixed menu from variety of regions across Italy. Requests were always welcomed and the chef went out of his was to ensure that my dining experience was par excellence. Their hospitality and service were outstanding I felt like family from the moment I walked through the door and left like I knew the owner as a childhood friend. I highly recommend it is worth a trip from wherever you are. I hope to return very soon!!”

“Visited the Bellevue House with the 2 best friends that anyone could ever have... and what an experience it was! The people who are on site are so knowledgeable and entertaining! I learned so much with the short amount of time we were there. The garden is also quite lovely and I absolutely love how they try to give back what they are able to grow utilizing similar techniques as we did in the past. Highly recommend, a must visit while in Kingston!”

“Unfortunately there are tradeoffs for the incredible views of lake Ontario, a wonderfully designed interior space and a some truly delicious food. (You won't be disappointed with the beef or the cheesecake) I was there for a wedding with about 60 people and the night was beautiful weather-wise and we truly had a wonderful time despite the reasons listed below. Apparently university students today are treated like they are petulant children so a number of degrading policies were put in place for the space even if it is not for students. First off, the bar would not serve an actual shot of liquor, we were told they must be diluted with water or put on ice. Obviously asking for a double shot was off the table. Just think about that concept for a second, you're at a wedding looking to do some shots with your cousins and you get told about this asinine policy. Secondly standing by a table talking with your own family with a drink in your hand and your mask off was not allowed. Thirdly the staff were incredibly rude about enforcing these policies, at one point a threat was made to call security on a group of people who had the audacity to speak to their family members while standing up. We found out after the fact that apparently one of their supervisors was in attendance, which makes sense the workers had to do what they were told. In my opinion that reflects poorly on the quality of supervision at this place. Threatening to call security on a wedding is simply an astounding thing to do. We did our best to ignore these glaring flaws for an event space and still had an incredible evening. The all glass wall design gives you unique waterfront view for Kingston and you certainly won't go wrong booking this place for your event I just want the people to be aware that there are surprise drawbacks to an otherwise beautiful venue.”
