(June 5, 2019, 12:47 pm)Joined as a family in the Fall Intro to Speed Skating program a few years back. Took us from "never been on long blades" to doing relays like you see in the Olympics (ok, not quite the same speed but it felt fast!). Kids liked always getting faster and we stuck around. A true gender-blind, inter-generational sport. Club provides a great mix of support, camaraderie, and challenge with friendly competition to whatever level you want: recreational to gunning for Nationals. But my favorite part is still relays!
(June 5, 2019, 11:28 am)I joined Striders Speed skating as an adult with minimal skating experience. The Intro to Speed Skating was a great way to try it out without too much commitment or needing to invest in equipment. I loved it and joined for the whole year. It is a very welcoming community and great for all levels of ability. Great high level coaches!
