The ferry is generally on time, and the personnel are efficient at controlling waiting lines and loading in spite of dock construction and service to the Dawson Point dock year-round. Horne's ferry to Cape Vincent has not returned to service, which adds pressure on the Wolfe Islander. There are waits on both ends during the daytime on both sides. Waits in excess of two hours occur on the mainland side on Fridays and on the island side on Sundays. The ferry occasionally goes out of service with little notice due to either staffing issues or breakdowns due to its age. There is no date for the start of service for the new Wolfe Islander IV. It is currently tied up at the Marysville dock on Wolfe Island, which is still under construction.
