Came across this gem while passing through West Grey. The owners were very helpful and offered their expert opinion on a specific cut of beef I wanted. The tenderloin was the best I have ever eaten. Fresh, free of preservatives and so tasty!

They even have a shelf with a few types of sauces, sweets and pantry items. I bought the butter and the baklava and was blown away. Will definitely be making a trip back from the city to go buy from there again!

Nice folks, however, I bought some prime rib steaks that were aged and we were not impressed with the tenderness. They had good flavour but not tender at all - cooked over open fire, on the more rare side of medium rare. We cook all our meats over an open fire for the past 30 years and we did these in the same fashion as always. I do always say though that you are at the mercy of the meat and there is no way the butcher can guarantee tenderness. Sad, as these were not cheap by any means and were cooked up for a special anniversary meal.

I just grilled a beautiful 45 day, dry aged Porterhouse steak I bought from Home Stretch Meat Market and I have to say this is the very best beef I have had In a long time!!! Expertly cut ( even thickness all over ), nicely trimmed and dry aged to perfection. The flavour was everything a steak should be and tender like only proper dry aging can produce. This is a new business located just off the Owen Sound bypass in the former Gardiner Meats building. I highly recommend giving these wonderful folks a try for some of the tastiest meat in the Owen Sound area. I know I just found my new butcher shop!!!
