Dad and I both ordered the surf and turf. When it arrived the steaks were thin with lots of gristle. The actual meat was tender though. As far as the lobster tail was concerned it was the size of a chicken wing. It makes you question how it was even legal to be taken out of the ocean at that size. The side veg was tasty. I saw other people enjoying their rib platters and what not, but ours was a big thumbs down.
Great place to stay. Nothing fancy...just really good at what they do. Restaurant, from what I could tell, served meats that were never frozen.
Great selection of drinks on tap.
This lovely little motel was spotless and so comfortable, and the restaurant was outstanding. The waiter was exceptionally personable and the hamburgers we had were the best any of us had ever eaten… Homemade and never frozen. The couple who run the establishment were exceptionally helpful and available the minute we needed any help.
We could not have been happier and we will be returning to Meaford to The red door inn.
My wife and I were going out to Meaford to buy apples and stopped by to have dinner. Karla provided excellent service while handling takeout orders and managing several tables at once. You could hear clear communication between her and the chef.
Food was well prepared and tasted wonderful.
