My son enjoys going to the Karate classes. Great exercise and nice that parents can watch them practice. Instructors are firm and teach them moral lessons as well as physical training. Great experience so far for the beginning student.
My son attends the after school program and it is wonderful! He is learning self-discipline and respect. His grades have improved and for the first time ever, his report made no mention of "difficulties focusing" or "easily distracted". What is most important to me is that my son says he wants to try hard to succeed and he takes pride in his accomplishments. He also has a great time socializing and playing engaging games. I recommend Brown's to any parent looking for before and/or after school care. So MANY benefits!
My son has attended Browns Martial Arts in Ancaster since this branch opened and we are very pleased with the level of instruction, the preparation and skills of the Senseis and their emphasis in modeling positive, responsible and ethically correct values and virtues in the kids. They train them hard, a very complete workout for the kids, teaching persistence, patience, concentration, finding your physical (and spiritual/emotional) balance and perfecting the katas and moves. My son enjoys very much his lessons. We are grateful for the influence of the instructors in his journey growing up. It takes a village to raise a kid, and Brown's Martial Arts is part of his village.
Personally, I attend Browns, and I can assure you it tops many dojos I have seen before! The instructors are passionate about their craft, and they're "incredibly handsome"! (May have been paid to say that though :) ) The dojo space is great, and the atmosphere (not to mention the people there) are incredibly welcoming. Overall, amazing.
More expensive than the dojo we left, but then again you get what you pay for! Instructors are very qualified. This is real karate and not a McDojo that exist elsewhere. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that we haven't been there long enough to give it.
