(January 8, 2019, 8:33 pm)This YMCA has an amazing facility and an amazing team. I sawm in their pool ever since it opened up and the lifeguards are always on guard and friendly. I would recommend eating at the café for their excellent sandwiches and their great coffee too
(January 6, 2019, 7:07 am)Do NOT take your Bronze Cross at this facility. There is only one examiner and less than half of the participants per class are successful at the exam each session.
Other than that, the facility is excellent, the instructors are good, the library is amazing.
Oh, and don't expect good service from the food counter on a Sunday.
(March 30, 2018, 4:29 pm)Wonderful place. Staff are courteous and helpful. Fitness classes, childcare, get healthy programs, swimming, and, especially, Yoga on Mondays 7:15 pm and Saturday mornings at 10:30.
This Y has a special spirit as it shares the building with Turner Park Library. This should be a model for every community. Physical and brain well being out of the cold of winter and the heat of summer, sheltered from inclement weather all year round. With a great little cafe!
The programming is extraordinary. The entire facility is a vital community centre.
(March 29, 2018, 1:54 am)I primarily use the fitness facility on the second floor. The space is clean and generally well maintained. Sometimes the wipe dispensers run empty on the weekends and are not refilled, but this is a minor inconvenience. I do wish they would post signage advising patrons to remember to wipe down their machines, as I frequently see members on the weight machines who never wipe them down when they're finished (so remember to wipe the machines down before you use them).
