“The food was absolutely fabulous this was our first time here the fresh homemade food came out faster than any chain and was absolutely top notch one of the best cheesesteaks I have had anywhere. The portions are generous and unbelievable quality. The staff came out to see our dogs just to give them fresh treats. I am very impressed we saw this place on our way to Kenora and saw how busy it was for a roadside restaurant and had to come back on our way home and we were so happy we did. We will be back soon for sure.”

“After hearing about Fletcher Lake Lodge from my brother, husband and their cronies for years but never getting an invite to go along, I took matters in hand and organized a “girls” fishing trip. Three women, 260 fish on the first day! THE BEST FISHING EVER! Jeanne, Shane, Kevin and Lorraine made it comfortable and fun. Great for everyone, but ladies, you can do this! Go Fletcher Lake!”

“Kettle falls lodge is fantastic. The staff treats you like family and the environment they create at the lodge makes you immediately feel welcomed and taken care of. They're always asking if you need anything and will not hesitate to provide it. The fishing guides do a great job making sure you have a good day on the water and the shore lunch of fried walleye, potatoes, onions and baked beans is something I look forward to whenever I come. The food at the lodge is fantastic and the lodge staff is just as good. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a fishing lodge.”

“Family fishing trip in Sept. Probably been here 10-15 times in the last 40 years! Through the years we’ve brought our 3 kids, then also their spouses & have gotten all 8 grandkids up here now. “Great little store to meet your convenience needs on the north side of West Hawk, sandwiched between Long Pine and Macara lakes. If you like your vices, they sell cold beer and liquor. Hot tip: since this store is in Ontario, you save $23 in taxes on a carton of cigarettes compared to Manitoba. Also, you have to be 19 to buy alcohol. They sometimes sell a local history book of the area which is pretty cool.”

“This camp is truly an amazing, enriching experience for kids and teens of all ages. I went to this camp from the ages of 10-15 and then came back as a staff person, which I still am. As a camper, I met new friends, learned wilderness, canoeing, and swimming skills, and had a huge amount of fun. I couldn't wait to go back next year! As part of the staff community, I gained leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. The atmosphere and experience of being on two wilderness islands on Shoal Lake is very unique and memorable. The canoe tripping programs here are some of the best in Canada - campers go on 2-16 day trips, depending on age level, on Shoal Lake and a variety of remote rivers in Manitoba and Ontario. The cabins for campers on Mackinnon Island are newly renovated and insulated. There is hydro electricity and filtered water available from every tap. The kitchen is top notch, serving delicious, hot food for campers and staff on both islands. Cash Island is a more rustic, wilderness experience, with campers sleeping in screened-in cabanas, situated amongst the towering white pine trees. Fishing on the lake is excellent, and all campers can try their hand at it. An amazing place with a great community.”

“I was with an experienced group, but this was my first time fishing in the English river system and first time to the Caribou Falls lodge. We had a guide the first day John, who took us to some great spots for walleye and northern pike. The rest of the week we were on our own. The fishing was beyond my wildest expectations. I cant even count how many fish were 35" plus. Lots of walleye jigging as well which producedsometasty meals. There is so much water and isolation. You can fish 2 minutes off the dock or 30 minutes away, it's all up to you. The boats have what you need and are reasonably stable even in rough conditions. At the dock John and Zach were there to make sure we had what we needed and were always attentive to our needs. I really enjoyed chatting with each of them on the way out or back in. The cabins are right there and very comfortable. If you want to catch fish all day then come to Caribou Falls. You'll be exhausted at the end of the week, but you'll be thinking about when to come back!”
