Jennifer Robson, author, at the museum to talk about her latest book The Gown.
A wonderful little museum with lots to do and great sights to see!
We had a rainy day and the kids loved the crafts and dress up. We spent a lot of time there.
With the rich history that lies in this place, the 1000 Islands Boat Museum has kept it all together for generations to come to relish and admire the history and charm of the old age ports. It is small, but well-kept and maintained. One of the must-visit location when you plan a 1000 islands boat ride.
The TI Boat Museum does not open until the May long weekend, but we were lucky enough to enjoy a tour before the official opening for the season.
The Museum consists of three buildings - a workshop where wooden boats are built and you can chat with a builder! A Childrens play place - dress up and pirate fun downstairs and upstairs is a really cool merchant ship recreation - Mike and I had fun playing up there!
The last building stores multiple wooden boats, and upstairs there is an Otentik recreation, a dining table built around a wooden boat for functions next to a stage, and a cottage bedroom, kitchen and living room completely furnished with donations from a 1000 Islands cottage.
This level really brings together the image of the waterfront lifestyle. #lifeontheriver
