Julia is a fantastic music teacher. Having taught both piano and voice to our daughter and piano to our (reluctant) son, she has demonstrated remarkable patience and an amazing ability to get the most from our children. Further, Julia transitioned seamlessly and successfully to online teaching and her virtual recitals are a huge achievement. They are well-timed and showcase all of her students. Julia has truly gone above and beyond and I highly recommend her.

Talented, encouraging, accommodating. Julia is a pleasure to work with - highly organized and superb communication. Most importantly she has a terrific ability to connect with kids on piano in providing clear direction and a patient-yet-supportive push. We have referred her to multiple other kids.

Julia has been involved in providing music lessons to my two daughters and to myself! Despite the challenges of the pandemic, she transitioned very calmly and optimistically to lessons on zoom and the experience has been fantastic. Julia is bright, compassionate, calm, and flexible. She has wonderful skills at engaging and connecting with students and individualizing her teaching to strengths and areas for growth. She is able to provide challenge while also making music fun and enjoyable at any age and skill level. I would recommend Julia to anyone!

I am a Senior who started talking vocal lessons with Julia several months ago. I’m not shy but had absolutely no confidence in my voice or potential to sing.

Julia has been fantastic in encouraging me and I’m progressing nicely. I have a fairly eclectic taste in songs I would like to learn. Julia has been very open and flexible with selections and providing piano accompaniments.

I have been a student of Julia's for about 5 years now. Her greatest quality is her ability to see the individuality in each of her students. Realizing that not all students are the same and that music is not a linear equation but a flow of emotion, knowledge and understanding. In so many ways she is able to draw these things out of me as her student. Providing a clearer vision of the path of music that we are on. I say we because Julia is more than willing to follow you down that path or lead you down that path until you find your own way. I have had other teachers in the past but none of them have brought me to the level of understanding that Julia has. I read notes faster. I see patterns in music that I couldn't see before. I understand cadence and dynamics of a song and their place in it. I understand that music is the voice we give our emotions. Julia's greatest ability is the ability to see the individuality in me. Realizing that as a 50 year old i am not the same as everyone else. My strengths and weaknesses vary at both ends and she is able to maintain a balance between the two. Understanding that you can't have one without the other. I would highly recommend Julia as a teacher.
