Sam is extremely knowledgeable about all things related to labour, delivery, and early parenting. Not only that, she has a reassuring and non-judgemental manner whenever I ask her a question (and I have asked a lot of questions). A little extra education is always helpful for being prepared when baby comes, and I could not ask for a better teacher than Sam.
We first began seeking advice from Joanna, a registered labour and delivery nurse, in 2014/2015 when we were pregnant with our first child. Her wealth of experience was able to provide a balanced and confident answer to anything that came up on our end. She was our go to gal whenever we had questions, and we always knew the answers could be relied upon. This included everything from the “is this normal?” to her politely assuring us during some inevitable hiccups. Apart from the occasional questions and thorough answers, including my husbands antsy questions regarding early labour, one of the biggest benefits was that she provided my husband and I a slew of positions to assist with giving birth easier.
While pregnant with my second child, Joanna was able to suggest specific yoga positions that would help assist with my little one specifically moving out of the breech position, and politely remind us of some of the other positions from before.
We are not big into yoga by any means, and she knew this. The information and positions offered to us were provided with this fully in mind.
The knowledge she shared with us from both her medical background and her extensive knowledge of yoga was invaluable to us, and we are forever grateful for the advice and insights she provided us.
Having Joanna as part of your team while preparing for the arrival of your new child is something you should absolutely do, and something we couldn’t recommend enough.
