As an architect I have been working with the Fourth Pig for 13 years. We have tackled straw bale, rammed earth, shou sugi ban, passive house, low carbon together. As contractors they really push for integrated design between all the consultants and the clients which leads to better results. Their multidisciplinary crews are dedicated to sweat the details because even the small things matter.
As a structural engineer, I have to trust the builders I work with to execute my designs accurately and professionally. Fourth Pig has always done this, they are excellent to work with. What a great experience we had with Fourth Pig. We cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone that is looking to do any kind of renovation. Why were they so great to deal with? In an industry that is highly unregulated, where standards are all over the map, and sexism and homophobia abound, the Fourth Pig crew had an incredibly high bar for work standards, finishing work, equity, respect and transparency in the entire process. They were absolutely the best trades people we dealt with on every front. Their commitment to environmental builds was the cherry on top - our renovation was made so much the better for this, without huge additional costs. Hands down and without hesitation, hire them!
