Our stay here surpassed all our expectations - the beautiful location, the relaxed and tranquil atmosphere, the great meals..but the best part was being able to just wander around and experience the sanctuary. Watching the animals enjoying their best lives by just being themselves was such a treat and an antidote to the stress that city living can bring. We especially enjoyed spending time with Cornelius, the friendliest turkey. Kat was a wonderful host- very low-key and accommodating and she gave us helpful tips about visiting the area and great places to eat. We're looking forward to returning sometime in the near future.
Been here quite a few times. Kat is lovely host, super nice and friendly. Meeting the horses and dogs is highly recommended to everyone.
The property is set in the rolling hills of rural Campbellford. The house was built in 1860 and is a proper example of a modernized heritage estate. The massive solarium with floor to ceiling windows allows for all day sun exposure and spectacular views of the area - and it has hammocks! The kitchen is large, airy, and full of history. You'll also find a cozy library, yoga studio, outdoor pool, and many more treasures to enjoy around this unique house. This all comes without compromise of modern comforts too.
The land itself feels very sacred and has a special glow even on days when the weather doesn't cooperate. Watch the sun rise and set over the hills. Skate on the pond. Hike through the forest. Or go into town to experience the charming qualities of the small town.
Kat is an amazing host and comes highly recommended!
This place is full of good vibes! My husband and I (who live in Trent Hills), have heard of this place in our own community, so we decided to spend the night there. We swam, walked, visited with the animals (who are grateful to be in a sanctuary), had a delicious vegan breakfast, sat in the comfy swinging chairs, I did the gentle yoga, and enjoyed everything she offered. The truth is, we didn't really want to leave the next day. This place is highly recommended!
The property, rooms, animals, and Kat (owner) are so warm, and inviting.
The spacious rooms are beautifully furnished- with outlets for charging electronics. Not to mention very comfy beds for a good sleep- midday, afternoon or night!
The animals are amazing! Got to meet so many and learn about their lives before coming to the sanctuary- gotta love animals just happy to be loved. Especially the dogs: Tango, Porter, and Billy. Even Noah(a working dog in the barn) can be heard welcoming people.
The pigs Kevin and Molly were super personable as well- walking right up to us for sniffs and pets.
The best part is how open and fresh everything. From morning yoga on the deck, to walking the trails and seeing animals pop up all over.
Everyone, whole family and our dog, had an amazing time and felt so welcomed, refreshed, and re-energized!
Can’t wait for an opportunity to book again.
Thank you Kat for a wonderful experience
