Khao Thai Restaurant

Update: two months after my initial review I decided to give Khao Thai another few chances. The past three times I have ordered, my experience has improved and to me they have earned a third star. It’s still not what it was like before but hopefully they will continue to improve.

Initial review: This is one of my favourite place for Thai. But over the past few months their customer service has been terrible. They no longer take online delivery orders or cancel orders placed online sometimes 50 minutes after ordering. I am very disappointed with recent customer service.

Out of all the Thai places in Ottawa, this one’s the best. At first you may feel intimidated by all the choices on the menu, but I guarantee every single dish is spot on with all flavor profiles you’d imagine.
They’re known for #37 which is salmon cooked in red curry inside a young coconut. A definite must try.
If you’re a vegetarian, don’t worry. There are a lot of great dishes for you to choose from.
If you’re thinking about going here, make sure you take the time to make a reservation so you have the opportunity to enjoy a great dining experience.

Went with a group of friends. Beer was cold. We all had different food. Everything we had was amazing. Fresh ingredients and well done. Service was amazing. Great little spot in the market. Would go again in the future.

A week-end stay in Ottawa from Toronto and we found a Restaurant for dinner that enhanced the Great time we all were having... The Khao Thai was exceptional from the incredibly friendly and giving service and the food that was absolutely delicious. The Mango salad blew everyone away with its flavour and subtle dressing...The main course servings were generous for our party of 4 and very very very good. Chatting with a few patrons revealed that 5 star quality is assured regardless of what would be ordered, so leave caution to the wind, ask for suggestions and everything is going to be more than alright.... I'd be back here in a jif.
