Kanata Academy Private School

I have been a student at Kanata Academy since 2011, and plan to graduate from the school in 2024. The last eleven years of my life have been made extremely memorable and amazing thanks to Kanata Academy. Whether it’s the wonderful teachers at the school, the small class sizes, the supportive environment, or the academic excellence, the school has formed my identity in so many ways, and I would not be the person I am today without Kanata Academy! I am academically gifted, and thanks to KA, I have been able to consistently challenge myself with a higher level of learning, even going so far as to move up to grade seven a year early. The teachers at KA are so incredibly kind, thoughtful, caring, and supportive, and will support anyone to the best of their abilities. You can really tell that teachers at the school have a passion for what they do and care about their students, as they are always there to listen, and always work with students to make sure that they are consistently working to their best ability. Classes at KA are also kept to be quite small, with the biggest class I’ve ever been in being a class of 16. This makes it so peers are supportive to one another, and I have made many lifelong friends through the school, some of who I still talk to even though they left the school years earlier. I also feel extremely supported in my academic performance and who I am at KA; the school currently has a kindness initiative, with the school motto being “be kind”, and bullying/teasing is nonexistent at KA. The school is also very accommodating to different individual education plans. In my case, I was able to challenge myself with harder work, but KA is also accommodating to individuals who may work at a slower pace.

Kanata Academy has raised me to be the person I am today, and I am so happy my education has worked out the way it has. I’m very thankful to have attended KA for the past eleven years, and I’m looking forward to finishing high school from KA as well.

We feel fortunate that we found Kanata Academy for our children to attend. The school has been always able to meet the learning needs of both our children even though they are very different learners. Our son is a proud graduate and the principal and teachers worked hard to ensure that his learning differences were met so that he could reach his full potential. We are proud that he was accepted into all of the university programs that he applied to! Our daughter has enjoyed the small class sizes and the genuine interest that the teachers take in their students. The open communication between the principal and teachers and the parents is always appreciated and helps make sure that each student's needs are best met. All in all, we feel confident that we made the right choice in choosing Kanata Academy for our children!

I am a Kanata Academy alumni and I am now studying to become a teacher. I am so lucky to have been able to attend KA. I was an anxious teenager and the small classes and close community at Kanata Academy were perfect for me. Now that I am studying to become a teacher myself, I realize how amazing and dedicated the teachers were.

I graduated from KA. I am in third year University now and I can honestly say I would not be here if I didn't have the opportunity to go to KA and have such great teachers. It felt like having one to one tutoring every day. I was so prepared for my first year at Telfer..especially for Math. Ms Britz was the best Math teacher.

Both my kids graduated from Kanata Academy and we are so grateful for the staff. They both struggled in the public system for various reasons like dyslexia and anxiety. At Kanata Academy, they were given the support they needed + they both went to University completely prepared. The teachers at KA are truly phenomenal; compassionate, empathetic and dedicated. The school has a real sense of community and there are not many schools like this anymore.
