Ottawa Humane Society

I’m confused. I keep hearing about the need for foster homes, yet when I visit the Ottawa Humane Society I see 3 dogs. In a city of 1.3 million people, there are only three dogs that need adopting? I guess fundraising will be easy this year! 🤔

Lots of different happy animals to choose from. Great enclosures with beds and toys to keep them entertained. They also have special rooms to meet and interact with the potential animal to adopt. The staff makes sure you interact well with the animal before you decide to bring them home. All animals are checked by a vet. The rabbit we adopted was spade before he was put for adoption. The vet check up is written down so we know what to expect medically. I was really impressed! Please consider adopting a fur baby. The Ottawa humane society really need volunteers and donations. I asked for the recruitment vacancies and they replied happily and told to check website for it. the outer space of the building was clean and guidance by them is also good.

We were forced to make a very hard decision regarding our 14 year old black retriever. He had serious health issues and had to think of him and not ourselves. The help we received from the SPCA was very comforting and compassionate. They were professional and helped us with the tough action of ‘handing over his leash’. We thank you for your kindness and are now at peace with ourselves.

My cat was taken care of very well and he received all shots he needed. I called everyday and they told me he was fine until I could pick him up. Professional staff I dealt with and they were informative and friendly.
