Friendly staff at a great location with a good builder, EQ Homes. The appliances are bad though and the builder needs to address this issue. The washer and dryer are too small, take forever and have bad ratings. The oven takes almost 20 minutes to preheat and the freezer is too small to fit a small pizza.
Further to the request for more information from EQ Homes, a few images are included. The fridge and stove are the original and the washer and dryer are the badly needed, new, full-sized replacements.
I saw few reviews with 1 or 2 stars and decided to write this fair review because the team at the presentation centre deserves a 5 stars. We purchased a townhouse in Greystone Village and frankly the team at the presentation centre has been very friendly and helpful in all ways they could. We dropped in several times and got served always with a smile. On certain busy days where the sales team is already serving customers, one has just to wait a bit and be patient like in any other business.
Now the back end of the home purchasing process is not as easy though, you have to go though a third party kitchen builder (tedious process) and deal with a very busy EQ Home decor center... The back end process is something else where you can be played like a ping pong ball and you may not get all the mods that you want and be prepared to pay extras especially when dealing the the third party kitchen builder (Deslauriers Kitchens).
Again, please note this rating is for the Greystone Village Presentation Centre only.
23 July 2018:
I reduced to 2 stars from the original 5 stars for the overall experience as we are now dealing with the decor aspects. EQ Homes outsource the kitchen and bathrooms work from Deslaurier Kitchens. So as an EQ home buyer you are left alone to deal with Deslaurier Kitchens for the Kitchen and bath. The process is tedious and un-pleasant with all kinds of surprises. For example Deslaurier is trying to charge us for items that are included in the base price of our model home. It took 3 months to get a kitchen designer assigned to us. We presented ourselves to our first designer meeting to find out that the designer was on sick leave and none informed us.
This has been such a painful experience. We met other home buyers not pleased with the process. How many silent people are going through this type of pains.
This community will be a gem in Old Ottawa East. Can't wait to see the end result.
