When I was a student, I used their services. Good doctors, friendly and respectful. Be aware that missing an appointment means a financial penalty to the student account; receptionist are by-the-book. If you are a planning to stay in Ottawa after studies, it is best to try and find a family doctor in Ottawa even if you just have mild asthma; They are difficult to find within convenient distances. On an Ontario Services waiting list (two years)...still looking.
Review for the walk-in clinic: I had been in the past and was extremely unhappy with how I was treated and the unhelpful recommendation I was given by the doctor. Today my experience was the opposite. Going first thing in the morning for suspected strep throat, I was in and out in less than 30 minutes, even with them taking the time to do a throat swab and wait for the results. I saw Dr. Ling for the first time, who deserves special appreciation for being thorough, informative, and empathetic. I am very happy with the recommendations she made. The nurse and front staff were also kind and efficient. Here's hoping the Carleton clinic has made a change for the better. Thank you to all the staff!
The counsellors are very nice people. Wait times can be long. The place gets very crowded since University can be stressful. They give out free pamphlets and a cough mask.
