Chartwell Rockcliffe Retirement Residence

I wanted to thank Bembinda Amorim personally. She was the one, with the manager in place at the time, that welcomed us to the Rockcliffe at the end of 2015, patiently went through the paperwork and integrated my aunt to her new life style. My aunt was all by herself, with one sister on the 2nd floor, and another sister at the Gary Armstrong and me in Montreal. When they came to the Rockcliffe, my aunts were quite desperate and Binda was very helpful, always good humor, which was reassuring for my aunt and myself, everything was then going so fast. Thank you also for facilitating the move out of my aunt’s belongings. I am very glad everything went well, despite all the constraints due to the covid.

My parents moved into the Rockcliffe in May 2018, thinking they would stay for a short time while their condo was being repaired. They felt at home very quickly and when it was time to return to their condo they decided to stay at the Rockcliffe and sell their condo. My father had dementia and he felt at ease in this new environment and knew that my mother could have peace of mind in this elegant, familial and secure community.

Thank goodness that my parents chose the Rockcliffe. It is a lovely building in a beautiful setting, but more important for us (my parents and my siblings) has been the high professional standard, the warmth and kindness of all staff from management to food service, housekeeping, resident entertainment services and nursing! They have gone above and beyond many times to make my parents happy. They have also been extremely effective in managing living well through these difficult covid times.

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, this residence has gone above and beyond to care for the residents -- not just their health, but their spirits too. They have kept the families constantly up to date and have also kept finding creative ways to keep the residents connected with the world outside Rockcliffe. It's been a huge relief to know my Mom is there.

A friend of mine has lived at Rockcliffe for 5 years. She is comfortable and happy in her surroundings and I am confident she is well taken care of. The staff are very accommodating

The physical structure is very attractive and the added bonus of living on an island in downtown Ottawa is unique! Highly recommend this residence to anyone looking for a nice place to live .
