A great art store, owned by an artist, that sells quality fine art materials. Chris is very knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions. My go-to place for supplies.

I stumbled upon Select Art Materials in Ottawa’s Orleans only by chance! Disenchanted with the two larger Art stores in town that are both slowly turning into versions of Michaels finding a bonifide art store dedicated to the needs of real artists was like finding a cool spring in a desert. The store is stacked to the brimmel with brands you might know and a couple you might not, notably Wallace Seymour a small independent pigment company based in England currently the rock stars of Artists pigment in Europe. Already a huge fan of their oils (insanely high pigment load) and colours that look delicious enough to eat! Select also stocks the Wallace Seymour’s range of acrylics and watercolours. The owner Chris is a walking encyclopedia of all things paint and is an artist himself. Highly recommend checking out this great little shop!

Went for the first time today. Got some nice pencils and a sketch book. Prices are reasonable and the staff is great. Very knowledgeable about their products :)
