Very special blood tofu. Typically they are cooked with tripe, eel and ham, but this one uses shrimp & squid. Interesting combination. If their tofu is made of duck blood w/ better texture, it would've been 4 star.

May 2019 Update: I'm a huge fan for Maoxuewang. Very few restaurants can ace this one. I thought I should it another shot. Lucky me! The second time is so much better! Apparently they have different chefs working @ different time slots. I wish I can get this chef's working schedule lol. Their bbq fish pot is pretty good too. Huge portion, enough to feed 2. Beef w/ black been sauce on sizzling plate is also great! Every Chinese restaurant has their own way to marinate their beef. This one is more tender than others.

Standout Chinese restaurant. Came for dinner and brunch (with a group and wasn't responsible for ordering so I don't know the names). For dinner, our favorites were the fish in soy sauce dish that has perfectly deep fried, crunchy batter with incredibly tender meat; the spicy lamb stew; and the deep fried condensed milk(?) dessert.
This review probably could have been more helpful, but the main point is that this restaurant has better food than our usual spots in Toronto!

I was here a few years ago and didn’t like it but this was one of a few restaurant open on New Years day. And to our surprise the food was really delicious and the service excellent and the ambiance great.
We ordered two rather simple dishes chicken with black bean sauce and peppers and Cantonese stir fried noodles. Both were great. the egg rolls and won ton soup were also ok.
Highly recommended.
