Interesting place, very beautiful and calm and organised
Beautiful property in winter and summer. NCC staff on site are always helpful and informative. There is often a wait for tours, but plenty of space to relax and enjoy the grounds if waiting.
This is a very nice place for a walk when if you don't want to go inside Rideau Hall. There are accessible paved pathways, a rose garden, an accessible children's playground, cricket pitches, winter skating rink and lovely grounds with both sunny and shady areas.
The grounds are nice, there's lots of lawn space to lay down and enjoy the sun. There's usually people around playing soccer or frisbee. There's some interesting things to see, like the trees planted by foreign dignitaries, totem pole, and of course Rideau Hall itself. Annoying though that visitors can't enter through the north side of the property. There's heightened security now that Trudeau is living there.
Lovely grounds. Fun strolling through and checking out the trees (many of which have plaques identifying the type and the visiting head of state / dignitary who planted them). Fewer flowers than I would like, but other points of interest make up for this (e.g. Cricket fields, fountains, and of course Rideau Hall itself). There's a small playground, tiny museum, washrooms and benches here and there, too.
