A Patch of Heaven B & B

Charming house. Close to downtown and theatres. Excellent hosts: friendly, informative, helpful. A place we come back to ever year.

Nice place, racist and chatty host. The building was historic and very beautiful, room was clean, lots of good features like a kitchenette and jet tub, and in good location. It was a bit expensive though, especially considering it was February when we visited. However, my worst complaint was the host. At first I thought he was friendly and chatty, but he soon became intrusive, rude, and racist. He sat with my boyfriend and I at breakfast for over an hour and a half and spoke the whole time. He asked us about our careers and even after hearing we both have graduate degrees in our field, proceeded to tell us about how much he knew. He explained how he ran a home for youth before the B&B and talked about indigenous children like people in the southern US spoke about black people in the 70s. I was horrified by his openly RACIST opinions. He also made other inappropriate comments, like how I shouldn't have sriracha sauce if it'll hurt "my bum". WTF.

Spacious, spotless accommodations and gracious hosts. Little bit out of town so there is a 10-15 minute walk to get anywhere. Small complaint - there was no shampoo/conditioner or hairdryer (we did get shampoo on request).
