Sites level , some pullthrough for larger rigs , part sun /shade in most sites , small beach, small store , friendly and accommodating staff , firewood delivered to site , picnic table and fire ring .
An easy 1 hour drive from Montreal.
Would go back for sure .
Stayed at Voyageur campground. I have to start off by saying the staff are great. PW Dubuc and Marianne at the gate were super helpful and awesome. They answered all our questions and even helped us out of a little jam we created for ourselves! Our site had mature ash and maple trees, a beautiful water view, and it's really nice, quiet, and well maintained. Comfort stations well stocked and clean. I'd absolutely visit again!
Under 2020 difficult conditions, we enjoyed our 3 week stay in July in the Champlain area. The staff were most helpful and always interesting to talk to. The grounds tidy and well kept and toilets always clean. Unfortunately the lack of showers and laundry created a challenge. Otherwise perfect weather. Will return again.
We stayed in the Champlain camp area. Sites were a decent size, the few bathrooms e went in were clean but no hot water. (COVID-19 era so that may be why).
Beaches had lots of bird poop but they were cleaning it up, I’m sure it’s a challenge trying to keep it poop free. Lots of areas to fill your water jugs with a dump station and water filling station on the entry/exit of the park. Some nice camp spots by the water, some open grassy spots if that’s your thing or secluded shady spots. Not too far from Hawkesbury if you need to venture into town for supplies.
Pretty much what you would expect from a campsite 1 minute off the 417. The campsites are large and spacious (though a bit close together), but everyone was respectful and we didn't have any issues with anyone partying all night. There is a cute small beach that's great for kids and only a few minute walk away. Showers and washrooms are clean and recently renovated, and water taps are available throughout the site. You won't be 'roughing it' here. Campsites by the water appear to be the best.
