I’ve been here multiple times, and it’s a good park. On our last visit we were awoken by duck hunters pretty much constantly blasting semi-auto shotguns at 6am on the river for easily an hour (both Sat and Sun), the site/park power was out on Sunday and the flushing toilets were closed (I assume due to power outage?). Some communication from the park about duck season, acute power issue would have been nice by email, as these detracted from our visit. Sites are fine, park is clean. Shop cashier was pretty gruff this last time too. Oh well. Can’t win them all. Will be back when it’s not duck season!
With the current life, it was not too bad. I do not get why they couldn't have one shower at each comfort station open, especially after Labour Day when the park was basically empty. We were in site 29. It was very large and mostly flat and we could pull through which was nice. The cooking grate on the fire pit was a great bonus! The best carrots and potatoes!
Stayed at Voyageur campground. I have to start off by saying the staff are great. PW Dubuc and Marianne at the gate were super helpful and awesome. They answered all our questions and even helped us out of a little jam we created for ourselves! Our site had mature ash and maple trees, a beautiful water view, and it's really nice, quiet, and well maintained. Comfort stations well stocked and clean. I'd absolutely visit again!
Stayed in the Iroquois section. Was ok. Sites are close together, little privacy. Atmosphere was very partyish and not at all quiet or relaxing. NO intervention from park staff after hours for noise. Woke up at 3 am one night and could still hear music and laughter and party noise from somewhere nearby. Noisy dogs, noisy neighbors, noisy campground. The only redeeming quality was the nice beach nearby, walking distance, with sand and grass higher up with scattered trees for shade. Lake was a comfortable temperature and was pretty clean with swim areas marked out with ropes and buoys. Full bathrooms nearby but the showers were closed. Kids playground nearby, near washrooms, walking distance. There is a convenience store for basics and ice and wood, but you for sure have to drive there. It's located near the day use area and main beach. Would return for a 1 or 2 night quick camping trip to stay near the beach in the summer but otherwise would not go back.
We have been going to Voyageur for years and have always enjoyed the park.
The beaches are well maintained and offer great options for kids and adults; shallow enough for little ones and easy access for adults to put their paddle boards and kayaks to the water.
The washrooms and amenities are clean and well maintained, the parc store is well stoked and the staff is super courteous.
