Nice place to swim and go for a walk! Gets deep really quick so maybe not best for little kids. Possibly a lot of snacks and spiders on the warmer days.
This was always my favorite secret beach whenever I would come back home to visit Picton. Water was cleaner (and colder). Tons of water snakes. (Harmless, don't hurt them!) On weekdays it was rare to share the beach with anyone. Let everyone else have the dunes.
But over the past few years, as the city has invaded the county, the parking lot has been completely strewn with garbage. What's wrong with people? Take your effing garbage with you! How hard is that?
There is a cool set of stone ruins on the shore on the west side of the conservation area. You can find the path going down through the forest.
Beautiful views.. romantic trails.... and a stone beach unique unto itself. No public washrooms and a bit of a drive.. so pack snacks, water.. and an empty bladder. Super worth it..
Beautiful
We walked the bay after going down to the ruins and enjoyed the beautiful pebble Beach. Such a pretty area.
Beautiful calm rock beach with cool clear water. A great spot for an afternoon of lounging and swimming. One portapotty in the parking lot is all the facilities they have, so plan accordingly.
