Dr. CF. Cannon Public school

I attended Dr. C. F. Cannon Public School in the 1980’s. I have a lot of fond memories as a former student. What happened to cause the city to relocate it? If anyone has any photos/info please share. I drove by the other day and found it disturbing that city officials didn't even bother to leave any reference to the school that once resided on Emerald Ave. There is no history or photos of the school that is searchable online.. It's as though it never existed.

Separately, the “Lake Vista Pool” that once resided further down is currently removed even though the main entrance/building still stands. It's so unfortunate that no respect is shown for these landmarks that once brought the community together.

We will never know why things transgressed the way it has and worse no photos to reflect on and share.

Shame on you Oshawa officials - Do better!

I went to Dr C F Cannon back in 1966. School was on Emerald back then. That was a different era. If you got in a fight, both students were called into office. Teachers aren't blind, they know which students are trouble makers. We had bullies then, kids got teased, and we all managed to grow up and be successful. This was back when the school only had kindergarten to grade 6. Back then they did it right. The maturity difference between grade 6 and 7 is too great to allow them to mix. You are going to get stuff brought into schools where the majority of students are too innocent.

This school i passed by several times and know couple kids attend their and it's a lovely school with polite staff
