We took our son to see Sherry over a period of a year or so. Since he was quite young at the start, we had parent information sessions over zoom. Sherry helped us with actionable plans and techniques to use when playing and interacting with our son. In person, Sherry is great with kids and had our son feeling comfortable enough to play with her as soon as he came in. We’re very grateful to Sherry for walking us through everything step-by-step and setting us up for success at home. We would be happy to recommend her services to any parent concerned about their child’s speech development.

I acquired Sherry’s services for my 6 year old nephew who has challenges with the pronunciation of s,f,x,v,r. We had independently tried many different things over the years to assist him with proper pronunciation, but nothing worked. I started looking into professional speech therapy, and Sherry came highly recommended by more than one person. By the end of the first 30 minute session, he said “s” properly for the first time in his life; it brought tears to me eyes. On the way home he continued to go through the process that Sherry taught him to produce the sound of “s.” Again; my eyes filled with tears; I was so proud of him! When he saw my eyes, he asked me “auntie; why are you crying?!” I explained that they were happy tears; I was so proud of him for trying so hard.” On the drive home he continued to proudly make the sound of “s,” then would say “No tears auntie! It’s a happy day because I can say SSSSSSSSSS.” Of course there were a few more tears.
We recently just completed the second session; my nephew had worked so hard in the 3 weeks between his first and second session; Sherry showered him with compliments, encouragement and praise for a job well done. She increased his homework and he diligently works so hard on it.
Mid way through the second session he said the letter “x” for the first time. Again I cried.
Sherry makes the sessions fun, and incorporates funny ways to say things and games to make the process something that he can look forward to. Sherry was also quick to identify that he needed a more structured approach and quickly adapted her style. I am excited to see what the next few sessions brings.
The increase in self confidence that I have seen in him when he proudly slows his speech down and pronounces the sounds properly makes my heart melt. Thank you Sherry for helping him to gain this confidence! I can’t wait to see what future sessions bring for him!
