I have had guitars set up at other places. In the last few years I have had guitars and a bass repaired there. Specifically he repaired some chunks that were in the body of a guitar and a bass. After the repairs were completed there is no way to tell the damage was even there! The “basic” setup is above and beyond what I ever got from any other guitar shop. I had complete confidence that Brian could handle my repairs, despite that my instruments are not his usual projects. I do not take my guitars to anyone else now and recommend Brian to anyone I know that needs setup, repairs or is looking to buy.
Brian at Bird and Bee has been my go to for all my acoustic guitar service. He’s done everything for me from setups to minor repair to major reconstruction. Each and every time, I am absolutely thrilled with the work...that is why despite being an hour away from me, I will never go anywhere else.
P.S. - he’s also sold many guitars for me...another great service with excellent results.
Brian from Bird & Bee came highly recommended from a friend, and he did not disappoint! I brought him a guitar quite literally from the garbage, and he made it look and sound new again. His attention to details is resounding, when it comes to making sure things are sounding and feeling right. Very customer service oriented and has a ton of knowledge, and some great stories! Would 100% recommend him, and will be going back in the future for any set-up/repair needs!
Brian is incredibly knowledgeable with a great attention to detail. Brian did a finish spot repair on my Sheraton (soldering iron burn on F-hole binding by a guitar tech who should have known better) and it's invisible. Since then I have been and will continue to bring my guitars to Brian for any work/setup. Very customer focused and will ensure you are happy with the work done.
My pride an joy is my 1967 Gibson Hummingbird. This beautiful guitar was gifted to me by my Uncle. He had taken out his first "mortgage" to buy it back in the 60s. I have so many fond memories of him playing it around the camp fire and whenever we visited. At his home one day I saw it in the box unstrung and had to go buy strings and tune it up. After playing it for hours in his basement, he handed to me and said "It's yours now".
The Love I have for it cannot be expressed in this lengthy review, so let me just say this. It took 5 years of consideration to have it worked on. 5 years of sweating every time I even thought about handing to someone to work on it. Somehow I stumbled upon Brian at Bird And Bee and I was so moved by his clear passion and love for vintage guitars that I had to meet him. After talking with him and showing him my guitar the care he took in explaining his process and what should and shouldn't be done was all I needed to trust him with it.
Since the repairs to the neck, frets and bridge, I haven't put it down yet. It sounds AMAZING. It is a brand new guitar with vintage and character. Brian did an outstanding job. If you have a guitar that you absolutely cherish but know it needs work, you're silly to go anywhere other than Bird & Bee to get it done.
I will be contacting him again soon with the last little bit of work I've been holding off on. The nut replacement.
I seriously cannot say enough good things about him. Like, are there more stars somewhere I can put up here?
