My little boy is almost 5 and he started Little Kickers in the summer of 2021 at the age of 3.5. Emmett has really grown in the program, and not just in the realm of soccer skills but in confidence and listening. Seeing him look over at us and give the thumbs up after a good kick or a new skill learned is the best. What I find most notable about Little Kickers is how developmentally appropriate the program is for each age/stage. There is a lot of thought put into what kids are capable of learning and doing at the ages of 1, 2 and 3-4. Rather than just throwing a bunch of little kids on a field with a ball and telling them to score a goal on the other team, Little Kickers has a more inclusive, thoughtful, child-minded approach. The coaches spend 30-40 minutes with a small group of boys and girls, getting down on their level and teaching them key foundational soccer skills with the silly language, colour recognition, and playfulness that kids naturally learn from. You can tell the coaches are really invested in the kids they're instructing and they take the time to know who they are and help them when they're getting stuck, while also taking notice of when they do a skill really well which really fuels their self-esteem. The way the kids all look at Coach Jacob with their "listening ears on" really shows how much they like and respect him, and he has a special way of leading and connecting with the kids while also keeping it lighthearted and making them laugh. We also had the privilege of having Coach Mikayla as well, and our son loved the one on one time she would spend with him kicking a ball before the practice start time. She has a really kind, energetic, and positive presence and its obvious how much she loves what she does. When a child is feeling a bit cautious or shy, the coaches take the time to chat with them on the sidelines and help them to join the rest of the group at their own pace. The coaches in the program have so much patience and understanding when it comes to young kids and how they learn and we've had a really great experience with this program. I highly recommend it!
Little kickers has been wonderful for my three year old son. Not only does it teach my son to be a team player, but mom and dad get to join in….creating a bond that will last forever. The coaches are lovely. Our first day they called my son by name three times! They really go that extra mile to make our family feel welcome. I would highly recommend Little Kickers to anyone looking for socializing their kids at a pre sport age. It’s been great to foster listening skills. Thanks LC St. Catharines for giving my son a great start to his soccer career 😉
We are very happy with the experience of being involved with Little Kickers FC. Our 2yr old daughter loves getting up an going to play Saturday morning. She loves to kick the ball. Coach Jacob and all of the other coaches are very patient and friendly and encouraging to all of the little ones. The kids learn many other skills other than just the game of soccer. We will continue to stay with the program for as long as we can.
We are so happy we enrolled our son in Little Kickers. He absolutely loved it! The coaches are fun and are fantastic with little kids. We look forward to enrolling both of our kids once again, when more sessions open during the week. Thank you so much Coach Milo and everyone else for a great year!
So glad to have enrolled my girls for Little Kickers. They attended the St. Catherine's location but then we transferred them to the Welland classes and both experiences have been wonderful. The coaches are respectful, patient and compassionate to every kid. It can't be easy teaching a class full of energetic 3 year olds. The coaches teach them to listen and follow instructions, it's good practice for when they start school. Overall I'm very happy with the staff and program at Little Kickers!
