There is one main trail, a 2nd trail closer to the canal, then another trail on the other side that winds around a pond. It is a popular spot for taking dogs out, for riding bikes. A few rocks are placed together as rest stops, high enough to sit on comfortably. Wear boots on wet days as the trails are dirt and/or gravel and can get quite muddy with puddles. Walk to the end and watch the ships coming and going, sailboats and looking across to Toronto's skyline to pick out the shape of the CN tower.
Good flat trails. Usually takes me 20-30 minutes from parking lot to the lighthouse.
Flat hard packed trail along the Welland Canal out to Lake Ontario, then on to a lighthouse with gorgeous views on eastern Niagara farmlands all the way to Niagara on the Lake. Off to the left, watch the ships travel west on the lake, on their way to Toronto, Hamilton, or through the canal system to places like Chicago, Duluth and many other ports on the great lakes. Take your bike or your stolen or a wheel chair.
Great little hike. I have been hiking this on occasion for a while now and even with kids it is a nice outing. Now it is not the most exciting walk but at the end you get great views of the lake.
